  • The unemployment rate among veterans ages 18-24 is 16.2 percent. That is equal to about 1 in every 6 veterans.1
  •  

  • The unemployment rate for all post-9/11 (Gulf War-era II) veterans was 7.2 percent in 2014.1
  •  

  • Among post-9/11 veterans, women continued to bear the brunt of high unemployment, with an 8.5 percent jobless rate last year, compared to 6.9 percent for their male counterparts.1
  •  

  • 77 percent of post-9/11 veterans have struggled through unemployment since leaving the military.2
  •  

  • 27 percent of unemployed post-9/11 veterans were unemployed longer than one year.2
